Dave Belanger

Dave Belanger is 32 years old and has been a lifelong fisherman who got his start in the northern reaches of the great state of Maine. Dave started fishing at the young age of 4 by wetting a line with his grandfather Augustin for Brookies and Landlocked Salmon during school vacations. By the age of 7 he was learning the art of Fly Fishing on none other than the Fish River in Aroostook County, Maine.  Soon after learning the art of Fly Fishing and Fly Tying, his repertoire expanded and Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, and Pickerel became targets on a number of lakes and rivers in Central and Downeast Maine.

After enlisting in the Military in 1996, Dave’s passion for the Outdoors continued to grow further. He has fished in more than 2 dozen states and one foreign country for Trout, Bass, Walleye, Crappie, Stripers, Catfish, Salmon, Sturgeon, and several saltwater species.  He is an accomplished fisherman and Hunter who continues to promote the lifestyle and sports of both and promotes conservation of these renewable resources.

Dave is active in Bass fishing and participates in his local club and enjoys teaching others. He enjoys the competitive nature of tournament fishing in Club Tournaments as well as Open Tournaments. His favorite techniques are pitching and skipping wacky rigged and Texas rigged Senko style baits as well as finesse fishing with drop shot and Shakey head rigs.

2010 Results

For the second year in a row a new member wins the first tournament of the year. Dave Belanger sacked a nice limit of Largemouth Bass and is also leading the "Big Fish" of the year with a 4.46lbs. Largemouth Bass at Lake St. Clair.
